Now we are going to visit a cave monastery Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra (2 hours tour).

Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra is an outstanding monument of Christianity, which history is an amazing interweaving of destinies and dramatic events. A visit to the Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra is the main event of any tour of Kiev. Every year, a huge number of pilgrims and tourists visit the holy monastery.

You are invited to visit the greatest monument of Slavic and World culture, history, architecture and art - Saint Sophia's Cathedral. It was built back in the 11th century, it has always fascinated people as an outstanding architectural monument and an unrivaled work of art, as one of the greatest temples of world civilization. As far back as the 9th century, Metropolitan Hilarion of Kyiv said: "The Church is wonderful and glorious to all the surrounding countries ...". This monument of architecture is so significant that it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2011 the Cathedral celebrated a 1000 years since the foundation.

You are welcome to the tour "The architectural masterpieces of Pechersk District": you will see Gingerbread and Chocolate Houses, the Arab House, the Pink Castle and the House of the Weeping Widow. We will also meet the House with Chimaeras, the building of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Institute for Noble Maidens, the Klov Palace and Mariyinskyi Palace.

Optionally, you can visit Pinchuk Art Center: an international center for contemporary art. The other option is the Museum of Ukrainian Nation Formation - this is the first innovative museum of history in Ukraine, where the past is combined with modern technologies. This is a modern museum in which the famous pages of our state come to life. You will be able to get acquainted with the centuries-old history of the Ukrainian nation. You will go through 25 expositions and see stories with absolutely realistic 3D models of outstanding figures: kings and hetmans, military and scientists, artists and athletes.

Now we are going to have an excursion to the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Folkways of Ukraine. This is a walking tour on the territory of the open-air museum, where you will be able to see old Ukrainian churches and huts, colorful courtyards and real "shynok" (a kind of authentic Ukrainian tavern), the house of a priest and picturesque mills.

As an alternative, you can visit the Mezhyhirya Residence (the residence of the former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych). During the tour you will be impressed by the large-scale territory of the well-groomed reserve. Everywhere there are fabulous lawns and beautiful flower beds full of plants and flowers. We will meet amazing clean ponds with fountains and small oases with different compositions.

You will get acquainted with the history of the city and its main architectural monuments: Arcadia, French Boulevard, Odesa Film Studio, Pushkinska Street, Passenger Terminal of the Odesa Sea Port, Gogol Street, the historical centre of the city, the Boulevard of Arts, Shakh's Palace, The House with Atlantes, the corner of old Odessa, the Mother's-in-law Bridge, the Palace of Prince Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov, Catherine's Square and the Monument to the founders of Odesa, Prymorskyi Boulevard, the famous Potemkin Stairs, Dumska Square, Odesa Opera and Ballet Theatre, Derybasivska Street and Gorsad.

The tour "Odesa Catacombs". The catacombs are located under the city of Odesa in the historical part Moldavanka 15-25 metres deep under the city blocks. The tour will go through the labyrinths of wild catacombs. You will learn about underground stone mining for the purpose of the construction of the city, the life of quarries, the stories of gangster and partisan underground movements. Ancient masonry backings, mining wells and flooded labyrinths with messages on the walls from past years create an atmosphere of the unknown and mystery. You will visit the fallout shelter (K-24 facility) since the Cold War, which is an underground labyrinth reinforced with concrete, and a network of command posts and living quarters to shelter citizens. This bunker is connected to a system of wild catacombs, which have a passage to a karst cave with unique stalactites. The program includes visiting old quarry mines, a cave, a military bunker and a well of desires. There is a constant temperature +12°C +14°C in the catacombs . These dungeons were recognized as an object of cultural heritage of the city. Each participant gets an individual flashlight for the tour.

The Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi fortress is the oldest preserved fortress on the territory of the modern Odesa Oblast. The history of Akkerman (it is the former name of the city Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi) has about 25 centuries. During this tour, you will visit one of the most ancient cities in the world. You will visit the existing winery and wine storage, where you will learn and be able to trace the technology of wine production. You will visit the ancient wine cellar, where wine and cognac spirits have been stored since the 12th century in the oak barrels. You will look at the history of the region in great detail in an unusual museum, where household items, clothes of the first settlers of this region, as well as miniature copies of old carts and much more are collected. In the cinema you will watch a film about the life of wine, beginning with the first vine and till the first glass of wine. And, of course, you will taste exclusive wines, champagne, cognac and vodka with a traditional snack for such an event.
